The Tukino Skifield is accredited by Te Mahi Ako as a Workplace Training Organisation.
We can offer the following Workplace Training Courses based at Tukino:
New Zealand Certificate in Snowsport, Patrol (Level 4). The industry standard qualification for a Professional Ski Patroller.

To enrol in this program:
Students must be a Financial Member of one of the Ski Clubs (ASC, DAC or TASC) at Tukino.
Students must be working at Tukino either in a Paid or Contract position, or as a Volunteer with regular and consistent shifts.
Students must hold a current Provide Basic Emergency Care - Unit Standard 39321 (Level 3), (Equivalent to the old PHEC) qualification.
Students must commit to completing x3 Rostered VSP Weekends each year during the year(s) of their training.
Students must also complete x2 Supplementary Written Assignments before enrolment in this course will be approved.
Enrollment in this course will open on the 1st of February each year, giving students time to complete the Written Tasks in the Course Workbook over the Summer/Autumn months, before undertaking Training and Assessment in the Practical Tasks during the Winter Ski Season.
For Volunteers working at Tukino, this course can be completed over a 2-year period.
New Zealand Certificate in Avalanche Risk Management (ARM) (Level 5). (Equivalent to the old Avalanche Stage 1 qualification). If you have an interest is Snow Science then this is the course for you.
